Mumford and Sons’s newest video, which stars Idris Elba, is either fauxmeaningful or a very clever piece of parody. The band makes me think its the former, the actor makes me wonder if it might be the latter. Either way, the video is supremely weird.
Update: Tara has pointed out to me that Elba is blind, and now the video makes a lot more sense. But I still don’t think its very good.

This is the rad video for “Andrew In Drag,” the first single from Love at the Bottom of the Sea,the new Magnetic Fields album. It’s a damn earworm that won’t crawl out of my head; I’ve been walking around singing it all day. As you can imagine, I’ve had some very odd looks.
